Default Spark plug change

Anyone have pics of changing the spark plugs on a 2000 XJ8 VDP? Is it difficult. I am not sure what is involved. First newer Jag. Had an 1985 XJ6, but those semmed to be easier to work on.

Plug changes are relatively easy. Remove the coil covers and then remove the ignition coils held by two bolts each. You'll need a fairly long extension of reach the plugs.

Also, pay particular attention to the torque recommendations for the plugs, coil bolts, and coil cover bolts. Do not overtorque the coil/coil cover bolts or you will strip the threaded female receptacle from the covers. Just this weekend I discovered the previous owner of my XJR did not pay such careful attention, much to my surprise and dismay. Driver's side bank cover only had two good bolts left.

I found mine had the same problem with a couple of bolts.
I fixed it by pulling the brass thread inserts out & gluing back in with small amount of JB Weld. Take care nt to get any inside the threads.

For the supercharged version, how is it with the access to the spark plugs? Looks a bit complicated, there is this part of the supercharger above it ...

any suggestions?

There isn't anything of the super charger in the way of the coil covers and plug access. Remove the air intake and follow the standard procedure.

If you don't have a torque wrench, buy one. You don't have to get a high dollar one, but get a decent one. I recommend craftsman for an inexpensive good one. Also, anti-seize on the plug threads, die electric grease on the plug boots.
