little square under tail light is reflector, right? no try change that bulb
these tail lights on with 'side lights' setting on
front side light by indicator on with 'side light' selector engaged.
so if I install a tiny light into each of the headlight lamps beside the beam lights i'll wire it back to the side light by indicator for power and should come on with side lights in future.

Your headlamp appears to be for a S3 which has these side light bulbs integrated within the unit. S3 doesn't have separate side lights under the bumper like your S2. You don't need to add the bulb to the headlamp unless you really want "extra" side lights.
I'm not sure if the standard S2 headlight had an aperture for the small bulb.

Interesting.
In CA, illegal to drive on them alone. City, country, freeway or whatever.
OTH, on return from errands, a while ago, an "Asian SUV" was doing just that. Park/city lamps on. Mains dark. Why, I've not the slightest.
A bright warm day.
Used my power vent system. Temp selector 65F, fan on auto.
Coolish breeze in the cabin. Windows and sun roof just a crack,
comfortable.
Later, today, I think not. Getting hotter.
Too warmish for Coco. Furry fellow. Park lots sans shade. Not good.
Jaguar purred. Apparently, I "lollygagged" at a tricky four way stop.
Got a horn blast from an Asian SUV. Kept temper, merely raised paw as an apology. Wow, kids, pedestrian as well as other cars in the area???
Checked Jaguar boot. Old batteries for special recycle. Little LED flash light. OK, but not as good as my shop incandescent on two D cells.
Did swap for my night stand two rechargeable AA"s. My AA rechargables are reaching the end of life expectancy.
Lunch time. More "secret recipe" chicken wings and inventive sides.
Special on Canadian Moosehead lager at the market. Yum.

ta Tony, it had slipped my mind entirely that I'd replaced the all-in-one S2 lamps with S3 removable bulb lamps about 3 months ago. The S2 one indeed don't have the aperture and i guess don't need it.
I have a number of S3 parts and mix and match a bit liberally, so that explains it.
carl, chicken and larger, i follow, what is this North American term "lollygagging" I heard in the Carz movie..

Chicken wings can be cooked up in various ways. The package I got at the store was labeled, "party wings". Finger food, almost. Grilled or merely fried. My version, this time. Marinated in water with a dash of sea salt, vinegar, chili flakes, tabasco and lemon juice. Then, into a hot iron skillet. lubed in olive oil. Drizzle on some more oil. After a sear, out with them. Finish in the microwave as needed. Delicious!!!
Lolly gaging: Dawdling is a good synonym. In this case, a three way stop sign. Populated by pedestrians, cyclists and other motorists. I was a bit slow in getting doing. Checking on the vulnerables!!!
Lager. A form of brewing beer. Local "drug store" populated by an
extensive collection of aisles of adult beverages. Many senior citizens
patronize it, me included!!!
