Yes Sir - it's been making the rounds here over the past couple of months. I watched (and listened) it all over again anyway
Sometimes hard to believe (for me anyway), that the XJS can indeed be a complete beast. It's so refined in stock form. Think I need another one to hoon.

Thanks for Sharing, do you think She has a V8?

hell no, that car is a 1980 with a V12
a taste from 2012 if you wanna hear a tiny bit more
idk why the driver lets the revs get so low in the turns, maybe the car breaks away if he doesn't. All I know is that V12 is made for revving, so it would definitely help his time if he could make it stick. You can tell he has gotten better though, and their placing has gone from 18th in 2012, to 13th in 2013, and finally to placing 3rd this year.

Not very much to be honest!
All I did was to replace the 'Shock Absorber Bushes' which turned out to be missing! as they had never been picked up on numerous MOT's
With a much harder material than the Standard OEM.
Which in a 'Blink' transformed the Car from wallowing all over the road like a 'drunken sailor' to a totally different Car, with virtually no body roll.
As a result, She now goes round Corners, as if She were on rails!
The difference it made was amazing!

I sure love the sound of this car. I was sure when I first heard it that it is a V12. Just has a sound to it that seems like a V12 and not a V8. Would be very surprised if ended up not being a V12.
Just makes me want to go out and find a old V12 coupe and start modifying. Really enjoyed seeing that XJS running around the course and seeing how well it handles.
All I have to say is videos like this can end up costing us some money trying to get to that level of performance. You could see first hand in the second video how the manual really transforms these cars.

it sure puts a different opinion of STREET RACING!
it is a V12 ,JagZ had some pix of engine showing the early engine then a much upgraded V12, notice the difference in sound from 2012 vid to the 2014 sound, plus more open road track.
as always gotta love a V12, sure you could have a V8(maybe more powerful) but it wont have the scream of the V12.
car guys love a good sound.

You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear. Just as you can't make a race car out of a 4,000 pound coupe. V12 sound is quite pretty though.
I watched some of the XJS videos. The race video with a green coupe being followed by an incompetent driver that finally wrecked them both was painful to watch.

It is definitely a very nice sounding and moving machine, I really think the biggest change has to be the manual transmission swap, the 3 speed auto GM gearbox was the most woeful piece of backward engineering on these cars. "IMO"
For those interested here are some pics on the car courtesy of Jagzilla on another thread.

I had not seen the second vid till now from inside the car and admit that traction would be a problem from what I saw, he must be running some bigger ponies under that hood then what's expected. Still I am a big believer that you don't really need to do much to these cars to get them to perform like that, as they where de-tuned in the first place.
