Default What other Jaguar would you buy to keep your current one "company"

If you had the garage space (for us dreamers that don't) and you could afford another Jaguar, other than the model you already have, what would you get to keep your's company? (ie. whats your second preference Jaguar?)

I would like either an XJ6 series 3, XK8 or a Mark 2 3.8 litre

p.s Oh and I was being semi-realistic. Of course I would have an XJ13, XJ220 as well ha ha ha!

Good question.
Even when I have a couple of cats -XJR and XJS- along with the wife's little Z3, I'm always day dreaming of a series III XJ, BUT... (well, since we have the money, right? ...it IS a dream after all) with the running gear of a 2014 Supercharged 5.0L V8 from any model, I'm not picky...

But the ultimate of dreams is to do the same to my XJS, including suspension, brakes, etc. plus having a top professional upholsterer to re-do my trunk in combo with my own design stereo equipment show presentation. Man, wouldn't that be something? That should be a $100,000 XJS.

Cheers,

I already have two XJS's and will most likely buy more but I really have my eye out for a XK8. Just waiting to find one with the right configuration and price.

Yeah Mike I really like the XK8 as well. Do you think being a fellow XJS fan it is because it is the sucessor of the XJS we like it so? It's got it's own sleekness to it but definitely looks alot more modern and roundish, and yet very different from the XJS

For me it would have to be a Mark 2. To me its the car that most says Jaguar. I was lusting after a variety of Mark 2s when I stumbled on my S3.

Cheers

I would have to agree with you Steve. When I think of Jaguar I think either of the Mark 2 or the E-type and I think that's what "outsiders" would think of too.

There was a Mark 2 for sale up my way. If only the garage would accomodate or the Mrs feel in love with Jags so she could drive one instead of her Mitsubishi! lol

Although the Series 2 might edge it in the looks department, for me at least it has to be the V12.

Having two six-cylinder Jags I think I'll have to explore the V12 next, probably in a saloon. Or in an XJ-S. Or maybe get an older Jaguar, like a Mk X or 420, and go back to carbs. I had a Mk 2 (Daimler) and wasn't a fan of the handling. But I have to get my XJ6 painted before the collection grows.

This is a tough one to answer because there are so many other Jags I like. If I had to really decide on only one that I could add I would go old and pick a XK140 to XK150 convertible.

I love the looks of the XK120 but being almost 6' 5" tall that model is a bit tight when you are as tall as I am. To my eye the older XK's just say " OLD BRITISH STYLING " but at the same time are all Jaguar.

I can see my wife and I cruising down a quiet country road in a XK with just the hum of the exhaust in our ears-now that is living!!!!

probably a jaguar xj-6 series 1-2-3 would be a good companion to a xjs would rather have a e-type but a xj-6 is less similar to the xjs witch would make it a better companion, as they could have there own separate function.

They are perfect sisters. As good as the XJ-S is, the XJ6 is just so comfortable, really one of the best ever rides.

I've always wanted an XKE but doubt I ever will be able to afford one. I've a very nice 97, XJ6L and 76, TR6 as stable mates for the XJS. I've had a Series III XJ6(nice cars to be sure) but for some strange reason I've always been drawn to the MK X, looks to me like it's moving when it's standing still, very "stately" very much screams "Jaguar" at first glance.

I bought a 1999 XJ8-VDP as a companion to the XJS.
Mainly to accommodate my late mother-in-law who required a wheel chair
to get around.
The back doors on the VDP are quite wide and make it easy to assist a
wheelchair bound person into the car seats.
She really liked the seat warmers also.

I really like the XJ8 for really long road trips. I've had to do a couple of 12 - 14 hour trips in the XJ8-VDP and you need this type of car for those trips.
The XJS is okay for the occasional 3-4 hour long trips.
But, the XJ8 has the most comfortable seats in the house for those marathon driives.
And quiet. Boy, is that car quiet.
As long as it is a Jaguar I'm happy.
