Happy 60th: Jaguar Classic is Making Six Matched Pairs of E-Types

E-type 60 Edition

Perhaps the most surprising thing about this extremely limited run of cars is the fact that it’s not sold out yet. Or at least it wasn’t when I wrote this post. So if you’re reading this, and you’re one of those folks who doesn’t have to ask how much something costs before you commit to buying, you should contact Jaguar Classic right away.

Now, I have to say I think the E-Type 60 project is incredibly cool, and I can’t wait for these machines to get delivered to their new owners. But while I’m glad the Jaguar Classic is available to return vintage cats to factory spec, I would be even more thrilled to see it follow through with the promise of the electric E-Type Zero, and expand the concept for other iconic models.

Because I haven’t been able to get the Electric Jaguar XK120 from Lunaz Design out of my head since I first learned about it. And a factory-backed push to retrofit old Jaguars with zero-emission drivetrains would be a fantastic way to celebrate the marque’s rich history while embracing the future. Given that you can score an XJ for peanuts, there’s loads of opportunity there…
