$1000 2001 with blown engine

 

Is that Roman Bronze? Only available for MY2001, AFAIK.

I guess another tensioner victim? Such a shame. What are your plans?

 

I have a spare AJ27 and 5HP24 gearbox that I am JUST WAITING for something like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Guy said was reving and locked up. He wasn’t much of an engine expert.
Not sure. Maybe LS swap, if so manual. Maybe just used engine. Is there any manual you can connect to a AJ27 that’s not $$$?

Used engine cost plus $3000

 

You can buy a running 1999 to 2003 X308 sedan (AJ27) for CHEAP and just get the engine/gearbox out and scrap the rest.
I have the AJ27 and gearbox in a running 2001 XJ8 that is a SALVAGE vehicle (ugly) but runs/drives fine.
The XK8 would be a better use of the powertrain.
