Audio Connection Module, not for the XK owners?
I can't find any information on installation of the ACM for us XK8/R owners. Is the audio system THAT different in our cars that it isn't compatible??
The reason I ask is I that I already have a AUX imput from my sound processor, but I am wondering if a direct interface with the head unit (like the CD Changer has) would be a better way to hear my mp3s. The CD player sounds 110% better than my mp3 player going thru the signal processor, even with EQ settings adjusted specifically for the portable unit.

Your car did not have fiber optics which the ACM relies on for use. Sorry bro. They wont be coming out with one either. They are only just bringing the one for the 2007 XK. Jaguar does not like going backwards.
I thought the XK did have the fibre optics, and that's why all the aftermarket (inc. Alpine CD changers) won't work as a swap. My audio installer/shop is trying to find out how I can replace it, maybe tie into the same outputs, use some PAC product most likely...it ust need to read MP3s and WMAs if possible. You guys ever see any other options for replacing the OEM changer...i don't mind it being back there in the boot, i just want the above music formats read.
Do you have stock head unit or did you change it?
You can get an FM modulated changer. You can also get them with the same DIN plug. I am not sure where though.

The head unit is the original stock unit.
I've had a FM modulated changer once...and that was enough. Not quite the same as getting the full frequency range of a direct unit.
Are u sure I don't have fiber optic? Otherwise, it should be relatively simple to replace the changer, right?
