Default CD Changer questions

Hi Folks

My CD changer (2003 XJ Sport) recently started randomly skipping. I thought it might be scratches on CDs but it turns out even on brand-spanking-new CDs it would do it.

I noticed it tends to do it more when it's warm (Miami....) but I'm not so sure - is this my CD changer telling me I should start looking for a new one? or just a simple case of a bad cable/connection?

Thanks!

PS: If this is not the right place to post this question, please let me know... I was looking at different areas but being a newbie I thought this might be the one...

Best
G

Pull the liner back and make sure the mounting bolts are tight on the unit and the bracket that holds it all. If any are loose they cause the skipping all day long, and do not over tighten the ones to the unit itself. Theyre small and will strip if youre over zealous

Have you tried running a changer lens cleaner in it?
