Default Fiber Optic cable activation in the boot

Ladies and Gents It's been a year since I almost completed my project with premium sound upgrade but all I'm missing is fiber optic to be activated in my car. is there any simple way to do it or I need to find someone with special equipment and software. Perhaps there is a button sequence that can do it? I have checked connection to head unit but it's all connected just no optic signal beeing transfer through fiber optic cable to the boot. My car was not originally equipped with cd changer. If no simple way can someone explain me cable and equipment option to activate it. I have no Jaguar dealer around my town the nearest one is 200KM away.
please help folks

Did you have the DB2 fiber optic cable already in your car? Also do you have a NAV unit ? In which case the answer to my first question is yes.
When I installed 2 additional units in the trunk in addition to the CD Changer I did not have to activate the fiber optics. I just had to make sure I added the 2 additional units (VACM and Bluetooth) in the correct sequence with everything else. Also the added DB2 connections have to be connected the correct way round.

This is what works on my 2005 XJR.
Jaguar DB2 diagnostics:
Press AM/FM and eject
When the screen changes to the setup screen press eject and mix to cycle thru the SW versions.
You should see
MAIN
CDC
PHON
VOIC- if you have voice
NAVI
If it does not then the DB2 ring is "broken"

To get to the PIN entry
Hold Phone and Menu for 5 seconds
type 1971 and you should see MISC button to turn on and off optional extras such as CDC, MD , Phone, Voice etc

As I say this all works on my 2005 XJR
The order sequence at the top is the correct sequence of connection of the units to the DB2 ring which has to be a closed loop.

type in 1971 and it will give you MISC button.
This allows you to turn on and off optional extras

Thanks for quick respond.
My unit is standard cd unit not sat nav. If I have sat nave my fiber optic would have to work with sat nav from the beginning.
I guess options for XJR is with sat nav unit but will try anyhow button sequences on my standard radio/cd unit.

You can get the fiber optic activated with the Jaguar SDD software, you will need a Mongoose JLR tool (you could buy a Chinese clone for about $50 nowdays). Search for Mongoose JLR in this forum, there are plenty of threads.

There is no "self service" activation of the fiber optic ring.
