Tips on selling a few MK2 Jags
Hi all, a sad day is coming up, as space requirements and also severe lack of time have put my MK2 Jaguar projects on the back burner.
What I want to ask from you guys is your opinions on how I should go about selling them, what I should do, package deal etc.
I have 3 MK2 Jaguars,
-a running, complete but average body white 3.8 auto, rebuilt carbs and electronic ignition, upgraded modern braking system with volvo front brakes, xj6 rear, VH40 booster setup (receipts for $4.5k work), it would be able to get registered with minimal work, a few rust repairs, and maybe some suspension bushes (some are new)
- a bare metal rust repaired matching numbers 3.4litre auto mk2 setup, this one is completely stripped down, and has had all new metalwork, new panel repairs, and left in primer for the last 5-10years, so has minor surface rust, all its parts are in boxes/bits, yet the engine and gearbox are completely freshly rebuilt with zero kms on them sitting on the workbench
-third one is a 2.4 auto which is a complete car, but I planned to only use it for parts, it appears to have firewall accident damage (no idea how as the exterior is straight) and repainted from white to maroon, non runner but complete.
These haven't been touched for the last year, apart from the first one, which is started occasionally and moved around.
Would I sell as a package? Should I get the good body soda blasted (or similar) and re primered to have a clean fresh body again, sell all three seperately? etc
I have no pics as they are kept at a friends shed down the road, he wants the space back though which is prompting the sale, rather than us just sitting on them until we are ready.

That must have been a tough decision.

Dont put in anymore money. Anyone buying those cars will have the skills/money to do the necessary work and it almost certainly wouldnt change the value.
I wouldnt offer them as a package unless time is the main thing and you just need to shift them. A package will always equate to some kind of "deal" in a buyers mind and push prices down. If people come to look and see the others they can raise the option if they want, without you looking like a desperate seller.
I imagine you will be a popular boy for a while. Three running/repairable Mk2s in one place should get some attention.

Time and space are killing me right now, unfortunately the owner of the shed where I have been storing them wants his space back which is fair enough, so it means I've got to source another shed or some floor space somewhere locally, or seriously pull my finger out and dive head first into organising the three of them and completing the white one, inventoring the stripped one, and deciding what the hell to do with the third one.
