I'm new to this forum stuff and not very good with computers, so please bear with me.
I read in a forum thread that I cannot relocate, nor do I know how I found it in the first place,
About XKR /XKR8 pre 2006 gps Aust update.
It was posted a few years ago by dunbar. I think he was located in Brisbane.
I am trying to find out how he got on.
Can anyone help in this subject?

 

My understanding is that there were never any Australian maps available for the X100 navigation system (Alpine unit), and that all the Aussie-delivered X100's were without navigation, for this very reason.

 

Yes thanks, but from memory this dunbar person mentioned being an "IT", which I suspect is some sort of a computer geek, and he was looking into making his own disc.

Well "Dunbar" had a total of 3 posts on the forum, and has not been logged in since 2012

This topic came up several times over the years, and the answer has always been the same, no Australian maps available for this model.

You are better off using the screen with an external device, or swapping in the three gauges...
