My aircon expert tells me that as the compressor is leaking, I need to replace it. Has anyone done this job or is it only for a Jaguar Specialist? My car is a Jaguar Xtype 2003, with a 2.1 petrol motor. Your assistance will be much appreciated. Kind regards, Docko

You really need some specialised equipment to charge the system properly, its not a bolt on replacement say like an alternator. Anywhere doing auto AC work could do the job, or a Jag specialist if you like. An AC comp is a generic item there really isnt much Jag about it.

I have had AC work done a couple of times at Eastern Radiators at Nunawading , they seem pretty switched on and can deal with routine and customised work. Dont know where you are as you havent done your profile.

 

And given your car is a 2003 model, that compressor owes you nothing... being that I recently learned that the heat in Victoria is something else...
