Any forum members also members of the Victorian Jaguar Car Club ?
If so what do you get out of it? Guess what I am asking is if it is for me. I know they have regional sections and one is in my area (Gippsland) and they do have Jag days out and about,be interested in your thoughts,
Neil.

Hi Neil

Just wondering if you ended up joining JCCV? I have been considering joining as well. Can't tell from their web site how active they are (they had club championship results displayed for 2006???). When I started going through their membership application page, the model drop down list had no entry for F Type either.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Scott

Hi Scott

Jagent (tony) is a member of the VIC Jag Club. If you drop him a PM he might be able to share experiences.

Cheers

As Steve has said, I am a JCCV member. I've have enjoyed certain aspects of it, and of course the value you get out of it is directly related to the effort you put into it (like most things!).

Happy to share a bit more feedback with any non-members via PM.

BTW, the F Type is included in the Modern Classics register which incorporates every model from the XJ40 onwards. IMO there are too many models thrown into that register and the time will come when they need to start dividing them up as they did with the early Jag models.

Cheers,

Club plates would suit the colour too. Or you could just trailor it to their meets.

They meet at the Bowlo in grant street and your welcome to just sit in,maybe worth it for you just to gleam some info on the Anchors issues.

The Leaper seems to be the best part.

What exactly are the issues? This should be totally reliable. Do you use the dude at the main P/V roundabout at the Mobil?

If it's electrical maybe you should be seeing Joe Petho Autoworks. Or you are welcome to cruise in mine here and there to restore 'the love' as I can't drive at the moment and it needs a run .(and a wash)

the leaper is the only reliable part haha.

I actually dropped in to see brad ash this afternoon. he's going yo make a few calls tomorrow for me.

the car starts and warms up no dramas. then when I'm driving along feeling like royalty, the engine cuts out. and won't start until it 'cools down'. it isn't a fuel issue as my mechanic and I have been through it. I've tested the coil and that's fine. a few people have told me to check sensors. it runs stupidly rich and the maf looks like it has been through the middle east, so that's the first thing I'm going to replace. then look at crank and coolant sensors.

mate, people will think I pinched your car if I was in the drivers seat haha

Check out that crank angle sensor, I had a Jeep doing it a few years ago(2001). Same symptoms as you explain. Only happened when I was towing the boat or 3 bikes.
Then the code was gone when I got it back to a mechanic. Had to start it up when it had cooled enough and drove it straight to him and read code. New sensor and another 14 years of trouble free motoring.

"the leaper is the only reliable part"

Run that issue past Gary Ayre at Jagayre. I can find his ph number for you. Nothing that your Anchor is doing is new to him. Huge resource of used parts too. Better than buying new stuff on guesstamations. Or here's a thought, put a post on here and describe those symptoms.

No-one can see you in my car unless you have the window down.
