Default leather dye coming off

I've always kept my jag squeaky clean...however I've noticed that most leather cleaners and conditioners seem to remove the dye in my leather! After just a couple of wipes, my cloth is full of coloring...I've only tried it a few times obviously. Anyone have any ideas as to what I should use? I used mothers and lexol.

It is highly likely that the leather was in less than stellar shape and someone dyed it which will come off in time, it was a temp fix. True coloring happens during the tanning process.

Options: Get it redyed, strip all the old dye off and live with what is underneath, get a new leather kit put on.

Cheers,
GREG
