Maybe ask the question in the 98 XJ8 section or the interior section.

Richard! It's the CFO of "Moses Gin" .....how indeed?

C. Moses...good advice by Richard, but you don't even need to post, there's a couple of headliner threads in the X308 section already, and at least one has this link:

1998 Jaguar XJ8 headliner removal, recovering and replacement instructions.

Advice? You can find a shop to do it for for probably $300-$400, or, wade in and tackle it yourself for <$50. I'm going to try it one of these days, but for now, my XJ is only drooping above the sunshades and they keep it in place...so that can wait...it allegedly comes out the left rear door, even though it looks like it would surely break first.....
