Default I'm so confused please help :(

Hi Jaguar brain trust! This is my first Jag and I'm having seemingly random issues: -Unstable idle -Re-select Gear Maneuver error -The vehicle shifts into neutral -Battery light flashes -AEB disabled, DSC off at times -Before it's warmed up, it can feel "jolty" when I slow down -Sometimes the Auto Start/Stop randomly kicks in after reversing or at a light, but it throws me into neutral and turns it off -Once engine is warm I rarely have any of these issues I disconnected the MAF sensor and the issues stopped...but after I installed a new MAF sensor, the problems returned. Have you experienced these symptoms and what would you look at next to diagnose the root cause?

This might be the culprit. How old is the battery? Remember, when the battery is on it's way out, a lot of weird things emerges especially with electronics.

I recently replaced the battery I believe either beginning of this year or like Nov-December 2024. Thank you for your reply

Have the battery check. If you're in the states majority of Auto parts stores check it for free.

I agree. Have the battery checked.

It should a free service and it will insure any other checks are on a clean base.

Just a loose battery cable could confuse your computer.

I agree with everyone who points towards the battery as a possible fault, as a dodgy battery can present all kinds of problems. If you get the battery checked and it's okay then you basically have two options.

1. Keep throwing parts at the problem and hope that you get lucky before your wallet is emptied.
2. Take the car to a Jaguar mechanic with the proper diagnostic testing equipment and get it fixed.

When the battery was replaced did you have Jaguar reprogram the charging system to recognize the vehicle has a new battery? Otherwise, the system will continue to think that the old and weak battery remains in the vehicle. As previously stated, low voltage (actual or imagined by the system) will result in weird things happening. The system is designed to first shut down non-essential features then progress to shut down more important features in order to preserve battery power for one to a place to replace the battery.
