These kits have been getting a lot better. The advantage to going electric for a car that is just driven short distances and to shows (which is mostly what I do with mine) is incredibly low maintenance. Granted you lose any engine sound which is part of the experience, but I'm still tempted to do this after I drive mine for a few more years (also there are some battery breakthroughs coming that'll extend the range and simplify the build).

Enderle,

I do not have large of collection of cars as you so while I do have weekend sports cars, my Jag is a daily driver so there are days I can drive 250-350 in a day so electric is not really there yet. Plus I prefer the sound and experience of a performance engine. The LS1 in my Jag can enable me to be on par with a Tesla and I have the enjoyment you can never get with a silent electric car with no road feel; although a classic would probably give you a good road feel even with an electric but I am not a fan of electrics at this time. Putting an electric in a classic is more green than an off the shelf throwaway electric car. Today the off the shelf electric cars typically will not replace the engine or battery so you see their value drop more like a rock than any other type of car so people just throw them away and get another when they wear out.
