Default Help Getting a Jump

My Mother's 67 XKE has been sitting for about 9 months and I need a jump to get it started again. I remember her saying something about a tricky wiring issue with it and not to put the red/red black/black to jump it. Any hints or help would be appreciated. It's been restored and I don't want to ruin this classic.

It should not be too difficult to figure out. Older models were + ground, later switched to -ground. Just take a look at how the battery is connected and which side connects or "grounds" to the frame of the car. if you are lucky there will be a sticker beside the battery stating +earth or -earth to help you out. Or take out a charger and let the battery re-charge overnight.
