Default Locating a Buyer and Price

Hello everyone--I wanted to share this 1974 XK-E with you and seek you opinions on how to find the right buyer for it. I've listed it nationally and have received a mixed range of offers, but no serious offers. It has been professionally restored and has 66,000 mi.

1-What do you think it is worth?
2-Suggestions on where to list for sale?

Many thanks, John

Default Appears Nice........

Irvin

From what you can tell, it looks nice enough...but 4x5 inch images. Cars are not bought from 4x5's. It's a start.

Check list for proper evaluation....

Clean Title
Location
Serial number with Chassis /engine/ body matching on sub frame and Firewall
Equipment list ?
Mileage 66K miles
Professionally restored ? First thing non original color ( Azure Blue ) who did this ?
Running ? Overheating? Leaking? Leather? Both tops ?
Brakes, clutch, hydraulics, electrics, cooling system, etc.
Tires / Wheels, age and condition

Short List

Consider current economy, available buyers, cost to assess, cost to transport,

Pristine car at auction may bring $50,000, This car from little images maybe $25,000 but also could be $10,000 after reviewing Professional restoration. It might take $10,000 just in parts if bumpers/chrome, interior are less than presentable. Engine /Transmission could double that.

Trying to be realistic, so anything is possible.

Willing to help just ask.

Cheers Robert

I wanted to bump this thread as I just got a binder full of service history information on the vehicle.

Serial Numbers all match. Serial # UE1S 24549
Found the original sales invoice for the vehicle, amazing it sold for 10k in 1974.
V12 engine
Lucas-Opus Ignition
Power Assisted Steering
Limited slip differential
4 wheel power assisted breaks
chrome wire wheels
A/C

Unfortunately, most of this service information goes through about 2000, at which point there is a void. Working on finding this information. The vehicle was purchased in 2003 by my client, who is now deceased, at 64k miles, it now has 66k.

It has been fun to learn about the history of this classic car.

One more thing I forgot to add, the original color was azure blue. It was an original color offered by the factory with the interior combination of "biscuit" colored leather seats.

The V12 model is currently somewhat out of favour with the cost of petrol. The engine is virtually unbreakable and will do huge mileages but, and a very big but, has the level of antifreeze been kept up to the mark at all times? If not, furring could be an expensive rebuild. Trim and interior looks reasonable, no shots of the engine compartment, but in the circumstances, running correctly, a mid-priced car I guess.

Thanks lowdrag, good point on the antifreeze. I checked yesterday and the antifreeze is up to the mark and the service records show regular changes and no issues with coolant levels. Going to get some pics of the engine and the exhaust.

Posted a classified in the forum as this beauty is for sale.
