Hi, I am in north dfw. I have my dads 1969 e type jag located in Wyoming. They were killed 10 years ago and he just started to restore it. It is in pieces at the moment and has little to no rust and the engine turns. Would like to finish the rebuild but have no idea in general cost or even a shop to go to that has the needed expertise. Can anyone help please?
Restorations aren't for the faint of heart and, given you have a car in parts, you need to think hard about what you want to end up with before you start otherwise you'll have to redo it. A full restoration will likely cost between $100K and $200K depending on what's missing, the condition of the engine, and the condition of the body and frame. Turning it into a driver, once again depending on the same stuff, should be under $100K. How much under depends on how much you are willing to do yourself. Parts on my project were close to $20K and that was for a 1970 that ran. You haven't said what body style but, also before you start, look for what you could buy one for in the shape you want. That'll give you a sense for what you could sell it for once you are done. For anyone else responding knowing the body type and having some pictures would allow us to better determine a price range. I'd also recommend joining the local branch of the Jaguar club as they could certainly help you find a shop. Jaguar Owners Association of North Texas
Hi. I know it is a e type coupe with matching numbers. Unfortunatly I do not have pictures at this time. So you are saying a complete restore is 100-200k and then it would be worth the 30-70k. That’s steep. Was hoping for more around 40-50k. I will see if I can locate pictures

"Restoration" means different things to different people.
What does "restoration" mean to you?
You can restore an E-type for $40-50k depending on starting condition, desired end state, and amount of DIY.
The way the question was asked suggests that you don't DIY, the worst-case interpretation of "disassembled" is "basket case" and if you want a 100-points JCNA restoration then you'll be over $100k.
But we're just guessing. Tell us what you have now and where you want to end up and how much of it you're going to do yourself.
If you have mechanical ability, you can do an awful lot of the work yourself. Buy the manual and talk to the guys at Classic Jaguar in Austin, (512) 288 8800.
Are you still looking for a shop near Dallas? I took my 1969 FHC to Richard Wright at Vintage Car Rescue in Denton, TX. He is also the president of Jaguar Owners Association of North Texas. Very knowledgeable. Great guy.
The Past & the Future. My "Ruby" with my buddy's Tesla in the background. My intent was to restyle the "flat" tail light treatment of the S2. I wanted to keep the continuous curved bumper.

Hi, I'm Herb Goede, I live in Littleton Colorado and I'm completing the four year restoration of a 1967 E-Type OTS (convertible).. E-Types are expensive to restore but it all depends on the current condition of the vehicle and how perfect you want the car to be when complete. Rust is a four letter word for a reason.and my car had lots of it. I'd estimate that my car will have cost arount $140K when complete. That includes the cost of the vehicle and replacement of many rusty panels. I'm also restoring to a concourse level.
I'd be happy to introduce you to my body/paint guy and the mechanics I used. They have many decades of E-Type experience. They are in the Denver area which could be convenient for you depending on where in Wyoming the car is. If you would like to discuss further I would be happy to share what knowledge I have .My phone number is 303-919-9199
