Default New wheels and tires with the gtjoey twist!

You guys are so exciting that I decided to post again!
Going with the 6 inch daytons on this car as well.
Michelin defenders 205/70/15 like my old green series 2 but!!!!!!!!
Look close I shipped them to diamondback wheel company where they shaved the lettering off the side wall!
A modern tire without the old crappy design and low speed ratings!
It will drive like a pillow and only 25 dollars a tire to wipe off the sidewall lettering!

Will post once on the car!
enjoy

A little chunky but once mounted we shall see if the grinding wheel is coming out?

You take out the bumpstop
I ground it down to where we have almost 1/2 inch clearance
Spray a little rustoleum put the bump stop back inward
It looks factory
I really didn't want to remove the whole perch I thought that's a bit drastic
Enjoy

Thank you I agree......Once all four larger wheels are on the car looks right.
You cannot compare the 185's to the 205 with the 6 inch.
Its totally transformed.
The 15 inch steering wheel, completes the job!

The tires look good but the speed index T is very low for this vehicle. I should have a tire with a V speed rating or at least an H in my humble opinion.

Your funny the rating is a T which is about 120 mph and they admit with ALL tires they cushion another 10 to 15 miles into a tire for the litigious group. So lets call it a 130 to 135 mph tire? at constant speeds!
Yeah, I can guarantee99.9999 percent of the E type owners on any of these forums will come close.
Let alone actually start the car at all.
Racing is something else....
For me and 30 years of driving ETYPE's , Ill take the Michelins and drive around 50 to 90 mph all day long with no drone .
Annnndloving it.
Anyone remember the old pirelli4000 days, Or the Goodyear g80's by todays
standards IMHO you cant even compare, but point well taken, for anyone driving over 135 in an ETYPE switch to the pilot sports....

I agree with you that probably never even the vehicle will approach the 190 km / h that is the speed code T and if there the technical inspection of vehicles does not put any problem by wearing a tire with a speed code lower than approved in the vehicle then perfect, but in Spain if you carry a code below the approved do not give the go-ahead and can not circulate to not have the approved technical inspection. Greetings.

By the way, you have a lovely car and I would love to have an E-type like that. Maybe someday. Greetings.
