Default PPI recomendation Green Bay

Can you please recommend a shop in Green Bay that can do a PPI on a E-type?

I am looking into this car

Please give me your opinion not only for PPI but for the car. If you know this car please chime in. All inputs appreciated.

Hi planolemans,
Good looking car. It's not perfect, needs a few small things taken care of that can be seen in the photos. The car looks ready to be enjoyed.
Still, absolutely do the PPI. There can be things lurking below the surface. Good luck with your search. Let us know if you buy it.
Bill.

Doesn't look at all bad for the price. Carburettion and exhaust manifolding is non-standard, but that doesn't really matter if you just want a car to enjoy. Picture of the lower front of the engine shows some oil so I suspect it needs a new front main oil seal. This can be replaced fairly easily, but needs the sump dropping.

Are you going to view the car yourself ? I'm very cautious about buying "sight unseen", but a PPI should give you some level of confidence.

Some of my concerns would be about the engine and this is why:
  1. Weber Carbs - IMHO they are hard to keep in tune for a street car. Give me a good set of SU that you can set and forget.
  2. 10:1 compression ratio - I have been told that at 9.8:1 or higher CR greatly increases the chance of detonation if you run pump gas.
    1. the CR could be reduced using a Cometic head gasket. They come in different thickness
  3. Grand Turismo headers are 20+ years old (Grand Turismo close 20+ years ago), they may need to be replaced in the near future.
  4. Appears to have wider that stock tires, low speed steering could be heavy if it doesn't have power steering.
  5. Need to check the date code on the tires. It is recommended that they be replace if there 6/7 years or older.
    1. I would stay away from summer tires, too may restricting for me. Such as not rolling the car if the temperature are below 30F
Otherwise it is a nice looking car with some needs.
