Default Replacing E type antenna

How do I access my antenna to replace it? it is mounted on the scuttle near the base of the windshield. I can't find any access holes anywhere.

Lots of the antennas were dealer-installed, so it all depends. But if yours is typical, just remove the top dash cover and reach in from above, behind and around the glove box. Alternatively, you can just remove the finishing panel immediately beneath the glove box and then reach up - easier to remove but harder to see what you are doing. Just follow the antenna cable from your radio to where it disappears!

So your antenna is on the driver's side - mine is on the passenger's side. What year is your "E"? Many of the dealers did their own thing on antennas and outside mirrors. My antenna looks like something out of the 1966 JC Whitney catalog, while the outside mirror looks more appropriate for a Mercury - both were installed by the original selling Jaguar dealership in Mass.
