Default Tilting Registration Plate - Series II E Type

Hi all. I am just getting to the end of a fairly extensive re-do of my 1970 Series II E Type and am having trouble finding any info on how the front plate folds into the scoop to avoid getting crushed when the hood is lifted. I saw some info on another forum but it was for a Series I and one contributor talked about the Series II but it was not easy to understand. Does anybody know how it attaches? I paid a stupid amount of money for the whole assembly so I have everything (I think). Could any Series II owners please take pics and post them on how this things attaches. Also, any Series II owners if you can take pics of the dash that would be a huge help, I am trying to find out about the small rectangular piece above the choke (is it a light or does it receive a decal?

Thanks all

Frankie there is a very large and vibrant Jaguar Clubs of North America chapter in LA with many excellent show quality cars. Have you contacted them so you can have a look at one installed? https://www.jcna.com/users/sw04

Default E Type Series II tilting registration plate

Hey Cov Foundation...thx for the reply. I am a member of the LA JCNA and will reach out to them. Unfortunately they do not have a blog so i think I will have to search who has a Series II and send them an email or something.

Frankie, the plate doesn't fold into the mouth, it folds under the bonnet as it is raised. when I put mine on I also had to make the angled mounts that go between the bonnet and the plate holder.
For your second question, on my late 69 2+2 the id plate above the choke is lit. Pictures for everything below.
Cheers
