xke v-12 running too rich on one carb
I have been servicing a 1974 xke v-12 and cannot bring it into compliance with our emissions standards. The tailpipe emissions are 9% co. I have rebuilt the carbs and chokes, paying particular attention to detail.. The floats are good, and properly set. The plugs on the left bank are almost snow white, but the right bank is very dark. In fact, the front 3 pugs on the right bank are black. I believe the right front carb is the culprit, but cannot find a solution. Any luck out there? Thank you.

I am trying to resolve the same problem. I am looking at the bypass valve, the temperature compensator or the starter box. if the float settings are good then unless someone has messed with the jet height ( which is not easy to do) you may need a new needle. Ia the choke on the front right. i think it is. That can be installed 180 degrees out and that could cause the problem. If no resolution send that carb to Joe Curto. He is teh Zenith Stromberg guru.
