Dynamic Launch Mode Does Have a Limit Here's the Proof (maybe)
Hey everyone wanted to share something important for those of you with F-Pace SVRs (or other Jaguar SVR models using the ZF 8HP transmission, especially 2021+).
For the past year, Ive been chasing a weird issue:
My Dynamic Launch Mode stopped activating. No errors, no warning messages .. just gone.
Shifts felt softer, and 060 and 1/4 miles times slowed despite no hardware or tuning changes.
I asked in forums, spoke to tuners, reached out to the dealership and the consensus was, No known launch limit, it's likely something else.
Turns out thats not the case (I think)
I just pulled this data using an iCarsoft LR V3.0 tool under the TCM (transmission module): see pic
From what I understand (and based on what BMW/ZF communities have reported), this counter tracks how many times the transmission has used full line pressure which would include launches and hard WOT shifts.
I can't say with 100% certainty that this counter is disabling launch mode
But in my case, launch mode worked flawlessly up until recently and this counter now reads 100.
This matches what BMW guys have reported for years and now it looks like Jaguar has the same silent limiter, but no one talks about it. Dealers wont even see it unless they have the right tools.
Im still exploring solutions with a tuner who might be able to reset or bypass this, but figured this might be useful info for the community.
Would love to hear if anyone else has come across this.
