The Fob battery warning light came on the battery was low. Replaced it with the 2032 lithium battery no problem. Now the car will unlock and lock at the handle, start & stop but the remote will not work to unlock at a distance. I'm talking about standing in the garage?? Anyone have an issue like this?

Problem solved, took out a lithium battery and replaced it with a conventional one and everything works fine. Still seems strange.

 

Avoid buying coin batteries that are Made in China even though it's a famous name brand. Coin batteries that are Made in USA, Japan & Switzerland are the best

 

Handy to know, did you have to re sync or prog fob or is it automatically connected after changing the battery?

 

I opened my XF Key Fob case to see what I bought this time for a coin battery,inside is,a Maxell CR2032 H Made in Japan. I didn't have a problem, once coin battery is installed, the FOB just operated as is once I clicked on the buttons. I also, changed the Key Fob casing as original silicon skin starts to separate, very annoying at times when I used it. Now it looks & feels new once again
Also, watch out for fake coin batteries.
