Default H422 Campaign PCM Software update

Anyone had the PCM update "H422v2" service campaign done on their vehicle? See attached bulletin. It's an unlikely scenario where a MILL light will set and code P0496 stored (vapor purge valve) if the vehicle is refueled within 15 seconds of switching off the engine. I'm booked in for tomorrow morning June 25th and am thinking of cancelling. I'll let you draw your conclusions why I am reluctant to let any dealer near my car unless there is a fault that a) I can't fix and b) is serious enough and needs to be corrected for proper vehicle operation.

Since it doesn't appear to be safety-related, I did not schedule my appointment yet and am taking a wait-and-see approach, especially with the worldwide CDK dealer network outage debacle.

Default 2019 F-Pace SVR here - just had H422 done.

I was never informed that my vehicle was under a recall campaign, but my engine light came on last week. Scanned it and the code was a P0170 (fuel trim-bank 1). More info on my F-Pace, US spec 2019 SVR with 47K on the odo. Every service has been done like clockwork since new.

Took it in today, they confirmed that the fuel trim code was active and said that the H422 campaign could cause this issue. so they flashed the new code/program. They also did a "fuel intake system de-carb" ($320 dollars). Told me if the light comes back on, bring it back for more diagnostic work.

We shall see if the engine light comes back on.

Thanks for the data point. Is your F-Pace still under warranty?

The 5/60 ended in April. I bought it 6 mo old, just before Thanksgiving 2019. It has the extended 7/100 CPO warranty.

And the engine light came on the very next day. Back she goes next Friday. Another 240 mile round trip (and at least 1/2 tank of gas).

Default H422 - stay away

First time on the forum. I just had my 2018 F Pace S serviced (standard annual oil change, etc.,) and dealer updated the PCM for the H422 issue... A day later and the PCM fried itself on the highway. Have owned the car since 2018, only have 64k miles and this the first issue EVER with the vehicle. Thankfully I bought the extended warranty to 100k so its covered but very frustrated with the dealer.

I recently updated my F-Pace for H22 without any problems, but I’m not letting them touch my F-Type. I totally get how you feel. Finding a reliable dealer with experienced technicians who can always do a quality diagnosis and repair that you can trust is tough. It seems like a bit of a coincidence that this happened to you. But, I would have thought that if there was an issue with the flashing of the ECM for the H422 fix, it would have immediately bricked the ECM. Thankfully, you had the warranty to cover it.
