Sir, you IRRR... !!!
A person I know, who owns more then 100 Ferrari's [ more then 80 not even registered yet.. ..no, not a dealer stuck with obsolete models],
told me its boring to have round exhausts and it marques the true bohemien to choose to differ...

How many paupers have this view from their kitchen sink and live in the most densely populated country in Western Europe, also the 2nd largest agircultural exporter after the USA... [no, edible, not dope..].

Relax Dan, I know you're no more a pauper with your half-engine than I am with my white car.

Don't worry, you're not getting at me. Just horsing around a bit.... .. and if you could beat my kitchen view, I'd hit you with the view from my summerhome...

..kidding..

When I ordered my car, it was sensible as it had close to 90% what I wanted, except for the V8... Had I known an example like this would come along later, I would have
saved my pennies and bought it at 35% of the new price, 3 yrs old... Although my car is now 8 months old and still sells above what I paid as of the tax hike since..

Did some more pulls this week. I have been able to pull a solid 3.0x secs times repeatedly if my shifting is perfect. Otherwise 3.2 secs if I'm a bit sloppy. Anyways its the 1/4 mile that matters. I need to find some open roads to see how my car performs.

@Gibbo205 , I don't think you can hit my times while still being stock. I have raced 3 different SVRs and destroyed them.

Well my PB quarter mile is 11.1@126mph at Santa Pod letting the car do the shifting.

I need to try manual shifting, what RPM do you shift at as I need to see if that will make me quicker.

But from your results and my own your certainly not destroying me, as our times are very close.

Let me know what your shifting at and I'll see if it makes me faster.

I shift at 6500rpm. Maybe it's my car but it just doesn't shift optimally. Specifically going from 1st to 2nd. After that it shifts fine on its own.
I probably wont destroy you, but I guess not SVR drivers are n00bs and they get slaughtered every time.
However this was just some random midnight runs on an empty highway. At a drag strip with some rubber laid down, might do better, but unsure. Our cars are pretty damn close and you are stock. Good job Jaguar on the SVR.
I going to keep working on perfecting the launch. Not sure how much more I wan't to invest into making the F-Type faster, now that my Huracan destroys it stock. If I was to invest further, I think its going to be in more weight savings. The car is a fatty.

Did not know you have a Huracan its on my next car list to replace the SVR along with some other potential candidates such as 570S, 458, NSX, GT3 and of course Huracan.

How would you compare the Huracan and SVR for handling, daily use etc. as I know the Huracan is a monster in a straight line like 2.8 to 60 and 10.6 1/4 mile.

The Huracan handling is great and the mag suspension makes for a very comfortable drive around town in Strada. Actually the suspension still feels good in Sports, but the gear changes are a bit too aggressive for the city, manual mode is preferred. In comparison the the SVR, the Huracan is actually more comfortable. On the track there is no competition the Huracan (4WD) would eat the SVR alive. The car corners beautifully. There are only a few cars that cAN perform better in my opinion: the Huracan Performante and the 911s. I have not driven a 720S, but I hear it's pretty solid too.

Here is where I think the F-Type has the edge. (1) corning lights, really the Huracans need this feature. Night runs through the Santa Cruz mountains are a lot more scary in the Huracan, because the lights don't peek around corners. (2) more seating leg room in the F-Type (vert vs spyder), the non-spyder Huracans have more room in the back for similar-like seat adjustments to the F-Type, (3) no front-diff on the Huracan makes tight circles cringe-worthy as the wheel "hops" when taking really tight turns (this only happens on the 4WD Huracans), (4) the Huracan sound system is completely trash, if you thought the F-Type system was bad you haven't heard anything yet. You are better off with iphone earbuds, (5) ability to control the radio from the steering wheel, (6) you can't just walk up to the door and open it even when the key is in your pocket. You have to hit the unlock button on the remote , (7) auto-tilt passenger mirror for parallel parking, (8) no indicators that someone is in the lane left or right of you on the mirror. I am sure a lot of these missing features allow the Huracan to save weight, but I do miss them, but that is what the practically daily is for, which is my F-Type at the moment, but I am currently considering exchanging it for a range rover velar or porsche SUV in the new year.

A stock R is good for a consistent 3.3 to 3.4s adjusted for std day.

Wow 3 sec 0-60 is very fast I can only muster

So far fastest 0-60 is 4.05 without 1ft rollout and 3.8 with 1ft rollout.

Motortrend claimed 3.4 from a 2014 V8S (also rwd, of course).

And 11.6 in the 1/4 mile. That is impressive.

The track is the best place but you can only get so many runs in at the track. Can't win. Anyways I'm proud of my car pulling 3.0x pulls multiple times. Strategy is dynamic + sport, shift yourself the car is way too slow to react, the car seems to always miss the optimal point to shift. Load the car to ~2k and let her rip. Shift 500rpm before redline.
Traction control on or off for runs in dry conditions?

Thanks,
Rick

Motor Trend (2/16) tested the 2016 F Type R with P Zeros and ran a 3.3 0-60 and the quarter in 11.6 @ 121.5. Same article also did a comparison with the Mercedes AMG GT S and achieved 0-60 in 3.5 and the quarter in 11.6 @ 124.2. Jaguar's published 3.9 to sixty is conservative just like BMW's claim of 4.1 for the M3/4 which is actually 3.7 which was my previous vehicle. I have seen owner's times for a stock R as low as 3.2 and for the stock SVR as low as 3.0 to sixty. Car & Driver which normally squeezes the quickest times out of their tests never ran the AWD R but did achieve a 3.5 0-60 and the quarter in 11.8 out of the 2015 R.
