Default 2014 F Type base- lost right cylinder bank

Good morning all-

It has been an eventful summer with the Jag. My wife and I left on a trip to Napa, about 1 hour from home (in South Lake Tahoe) the cooling system failed and I sent the car to a local indy. $4,000 later, I have a new coolant crossover pipe under the supercharger. Car has a velocity ap tune on engine and transmission, lower pulley.

A few days later, on a normal drive to town we started smelling a foul odor and then the car went into limp mode, turned around and drove 7 miles back home.

Got it on the lift and pulled the cats, car has 38k on it now and seems a likely culprit.

The passenger side cylinders were clearly not firing well as the inside of the pipe and O2 sensor is heavily sooted.

Now, when starting the car (open manifolds), it still appears to be running poorly on the passenger side.

I assume the plugs are fouled beyond repair and it is now time to do plugs (sounds like a pain in the a$$), but any chance the plugs will clean up on their own to make certain the cat was the only issue??

Appreciate any tips here.

Generally when that happens your better off to replace all 4 injectors and plugs on that side of the engine.
Off course without any engine info you may have a V-6 instead? Full car details will always get you a better answer too.

Sorry about that- put it in the title but not in the body. 2014 F Type base convertible with 38k miles. VAP tune on engine and trans, lower pulley.

No problem but is it a V-8 or a V-6? I don't know what engine the base F-Type came with?

Okay.... I just have to address the elephant in the room... You DROVE from South Lake Tahoe to Napa in about an hour??? Sumthin wrong with your watch? Google Maps says it's about a 3 hour/160 mile route.

I used to commute from Orangevale - about half way to SLT - to Napa. Even in very early AM traffic along I-80 (typically 75-80 mph), I had to plan on about an hour and a half on the road. And climbing up from Orangevale/Folsom up and over into the Tahoe basin on that long, curvy section of highway 50... well, there are just too many places along the American River where you just can't drive that fast... and that's just the road conditions, not counting the amount of (all-it-takes-is-one-car) slow traffic.

If you really did this in about an hour, then it's no wonder that you had coolant problems.

Wow...

You misread the OP's post ....

"My wife and I left on a trip to Napa, about 1 hour from home (in South Lake Tahoe) the cooling system failed"

ie, it failed about 1 hour into their journey from their home to Napa, not that they arrived at Napa in 1 hour and then it failed

Yeah- it’s about 4 hours total from my home in Washoe Valley, NV. Very fortunately, the crossover pipe failed on a twisty mountainous section of the road with no room to get off the road at all- but happened to have a slow car pullout right where I needed it.

I guess I’ll order the injectors and plugs to go with my new VAP down pipes.
