2016 R - tow hook plate mount vs. parking sensors
Hi folks!
If this is a duplicate question, I apologize.
Just got this beautiful car from a non-front-plate jurisdiction. The dealership provided a screw to the fascia plate mount, which I don’t want to use.
So we went with a tow hook mount, hoping to work around the front parking sensors. This doesn’t seem possible, as even in the most extreme outboard position, the sensor is activated. At the moment, I’m just turning it “off” each time it’s triggered (seems to be when shifting into reverse), but this is a bit tiresome.
I suspect there’s no elegant solution and that I’ve just made a bad call here.
All suggestions are welcomed.
TIA

Am I understanding that you have to display a front license plate, do not want to mount it normally, which looks like **** and you're frustated with the other option at hand? Investigate the Sto-N-Go (or Show and Stow, whatever) which allows a plate mounting that doesn't require drilling into your grill bar or blocking the grill. It's in use everwhere and many posters on this site use it. There are other posts below under Related Topics which will describe it better.

I had the exact same experience with the parking sensors and the license plate mounted using the tow bolt location on my 2015 R. I returned it and bought a Sto N Sho. Super easy install, no issues.
