I thought I'd re post this from the new member section. We just picked up an F-Type S in New Jersey. This is my wife's car and our first Jaguar. We Made the 700 mile trip to Homer NJ last week. My goodness it was pretty scary looking out for deer during the trip. My wife actually had to dodge one in the middle of the road thru West Virginia while pulling our trailer! The car is a British Design Edition model with only 14k miles. I found the car on line and it was advertised at a very nice price. After talking with the salesman over the phone I negotiated a price I was comfortable with. Once we got to see the car in person we got him to knock a few hundred dollars more off the price due to the carpet not meeting on parts of the console. After getting the car home and taking it to the dealer I found this is a known issue with these cars and the carpets going to be replaced under warranty.
The sound of the supercharged V6 of this car is amazing. We've swapped out the tires to some Bridgestone all season tires for the winter. Other additions are some Luxmats, Window tint and paint protection for the front of the car are scheduled for next week. I hope I can control myself from taking the car out too much while the wife's not looking. Here's a few pics of Effie.
I can tell you it is a great car.
Interestingly, I am a first time Jag owner also, a 2017 F type S AWD that came to Chicago from New Jersey 5 months ago.
I just put Bridgestone all weather tires on and had the windows tinted. So of course I feel you have excellent taste in automotive design.
I am a recent 2017 F-Type S AWD convertible owner, also in the Chicago area and also BRG (as it looks like yours is). You mentioned that you have Bridgestone all weather tires and I wondered how your experience has been. I am thinking of all weathers as well since I will drive it through the winter. Thanks for your thoughts.
I am very happy with the tires.
I drive the car daily all year and it goes through snow and slush with no problems.
With the AWD I had absolutely no problems and was happily surprised as it
went better than front wheel drives I had with all weather tires.
I am not a performance driver so I can not comment on that aspect but the tires
did everything I wanted and more.
I would highly recommend them for drivers like me.
johnnymike, Thanks for the reply. The Bridgestones sound like a good alternative.
