Default Special Surprise For Early Registration

And, as you already know, there is no formal registration process.

It has been brought to my attention that there is a special surprise for those attending - all I can say is (1) per car - BUT the caveat is I have to know no later than Aug 18. And, as they say, "YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN". (Why do they have to say that? I hate that!).

The simple "RULES" of this surprise is you've already won. You just have to 1) tell me you're coming, 2) tell me by Aug 18, 3) be here during the event to collect (I'm thinking during the Thursday Mead and Gin tasting; although I already know someone who is arriving on Friday...and that's OK).

What could be more simple? If I know you are coming you will be contacted via PM at a later date.

WOW, this sounds exciting. And I know what it is! (And, no, DJS, it is NOT a new F-Type).

1. I'm coming!
2. I'll take care of the stickers like last year. Happy too. Last year it was a Ferrari yellow field with the logo in black letters. For the green, do we go with BRG with white letters? Other green? Thoughts welcome.
3. Agenda looks fantastic
4. No mountain climbing! You already broke your hip once. I'm not carting your *** off a mountain 😜

Oh, you have a convertible? I'm afraid it - the surprise - will only fit in a coupe. Maybe next year Dave.

I'd cart your *** off the mountain Marko. (And my falling, 40+ feet, off-trail, all rock - was a fluke!).

[re] 1. I'm pleased you and your lovely wife will be coming.
[re] 2. Please call or PM me to discuss.
[re] 3. You were expecting less from me?
[re] 4. See above.

Best regards,
Jay

I'm looking good for the trip. I'll likely be flying solo if anybody wants to co pilot.

Good to know Shaun and thanks for the notice about the empty seat. I was also thinking of you [re] the added surprise. I know you said you wouldn't know until later in the month if not later than that but - it was "suggested" to me - I need to have a pretty solid commitment for what's to come, no later than Aug 18.

[re] said surprise: I wouldn't let my imagination get carried away here. Yes, it is a surprise and yes you will be very happy with it - whatever "it" is - but if you have visions of some grand "X"...well...you will be disappointed.

By the way, I cannot, and will not, tell you anything about the surprise but I will say that I have nothing to do with it. The "credit" isn't with me but you will know who deserves credit at the appropriate time (and while you should certainly thank him, I'm pretty sure he doesn't want any thanks...but don't let that stop you). Me? I swear to you I do NOT want ANY thanks. I merely want everyone attending to have a fabulous time. And you will...

Thanks again Shaun and I will post attendees soon. And the "surprise list" ends ON Aug 18.

Best regards,
Jay

Default List Of Attendees & Potential Attendees

I've received several e-mails with contact information and patiently waiting for the rest (obviously I do not need it for those Forum members/friends I already have; you know who you are). I plan on writing all of you - Bcc - an e-mail (this in lieu of posting here) breaking down our venues and some of the details, including cost soon.

Here's who I have thus far, in alphabetical order (and if I have anything wrong, please let me know):

Awd - Will know this coming week
DJS - IN
Fjmviper - IN
JFerraro - 40%
Jim F - 75%
Mbourne - IN
Nati - IN
Prophizee - IN
RickyJay52 - 50%
ShaunPA - IN
Slojotaa - IN
Tman003 - IN

Ok, I'm obviously IN. That makes 9 F-Types IN, with a few on the fence. This does not include Will Haynes - Marketing Director from Scarborough Jaguar/Land Rover (IN for all events) - or any potential attendees coming from his customer base. One might assume he'll have at least one of two F-Types attending but who knows? I also heard from one 2016 Lobster Runner who will be attending [all of] Saturday's venues, but no other (he works in DC and only comes to Maine on occasional weekends).

A reminder that The Press Hotel is accepting reservations - a block of rooms are being held until the end of Aug (or close to the end) - and mention 2017 Jaguar Lobster Run when contacting them. It's a wonderful hotel, and I'd want to stay there, but by no means the only hotel (especially since you won't be spending lots of time there...just a thought).

Last but not least - for now (and look for that e-mail in the next few days) - the final date to "qualify" for the mystery gift is Aug 18. We've decided that it's only available to Forum members and those attending (it's perfectly fine if you're arriving on Friday and won't be able to make Thursday's venues which start @ 4:00 PM). I will need a bit more information from you but that too will come at a later date. No later than 8/18.

Enjoy the rest of your evening and weekend.

Here's a slightly edited PDF of the proposed itinerary - it's substantially the same as what was posted previously. Jay is emailing updates, so if you're interested, make sure he has your email address.

You Northeasterners sure know how to live it up.. 2016 looked like a ton of fun. Wish I had the time to go or could stomach the miles on the car.

Someone needs to arrange a BBQ Run down here and maybe Food Truck Run out west. And perhaps we all meet in the Midwest Anchorman-style or something.

Maybe a national run, everybody throws their "F-Types" on an auto train, and meets somewhere of mutual convenience, and leaves the miles to local driving, although may be a bit costly....but then again, so is the F-Type!:-)

Less than two months away...

At last count I have 11 F-Types coming - 1 or 2 not sure they can make the Thursday afternoon kick-off - and that doesn't include the excellent Marketing Director of Scarborough Jaguar/Land Rover Will Haynes and the possibilities of one or two of their clients joining us (or an F-Type I know of coming for Saturday only).

By the way, and speaking of Scarborough Jaguar/Land Rover (I had to bring them a dozen croissant from Standard Bakery this morning; see photo)...they plan to have an F-Pace trailing our group as a chase car and are hoping to have the 4-cylinder F-Type for your perusal during the Sunday morning breakfast and send-off.

Jay - did you also want to post this on the Ftype Owner's Facebook group?

Hey Shaun. 1) I don't do Facebook and 2) I am a little bit hesitant to do so - or have you do it - only because our group now appears to total anywhere from 8-13 F-Types and - depending on who is bringing who - an equal number, if not double, of participants. Venturing beyond 20+ people - or much beyond - might pose a problem with some of the places we're headed.

The more the merrier might not work in this situation if you catch my drift. I'm sure I could make any number work but that also might mean changing the itinerary and, at this late date, I'd probably prefer not having to do that.

Of course if you knew of someone who you wanted to "invite" to join us, by all means do so.

Best regards,
Jay

You are right, of course. I should be more understanding of those with few cylinders.

Yes...have some empathy for the cylindrically challenged.
