Default 2017 model - locking gas cap?

Hello all, I know there have been several threads discussing the lack of a locking gas cap on the f type in the U.S. but nothing seems conclusive on the solution working in later models.

I'm picking up a 2017 F type R today and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the previously referenced locking cap from Coventry west works on the latest model F types?

Jaguar F-type Locking Gas Cap

Thanks.

That cap will work just fine, but that cap is not a locking cap. It's the wrong picture for that part number. I'm now using it as a paperweight.

The one I received didn't fit my car but is a locking gas cap. I have a 2017 R for reference.

The SKU for the Coventry West locking gas cap part # is C2D33850/LOCK. I found the invoice for when I purchased it for my 2015 R. It was $29.95. Currently using a non-locking OEM gas cap due to a recent CEL and the dealer wanting me to switch back to confirm it wasn't the 3rd party gas cap. Had the locking one on for 2 years without issues. So far CEL hasn't returned for the past couple of weeks.

I got the CEL for "Check gas cap" very infrequently starting about 4 months ago, but the frequency increased until it was persistent. I needed the evap line replaced (Service Action K410). It's all better now.

Of all the things missing on a F-Type, especially the base model, why is there such an interest in locking gas caps? I ask that sincerely. I miss a home link garage opener most. Then a fully powered seat, blind spot indicator, rear camera, parking sensors, spare tire, useable trunk, front fog lights, and alpine horn in that order.

I'd rather have someone steal my gas then pry off (or attempt to) a locking cap with a bar or tool and mess up my car.

There's a theory on this board that people run around with baggies of sugar in their pockets looking for gas tanks to foul.

I don't get it either, but it appears to be the most desired feature missing by a wide margin. Honestly I never even noticed until someone said it was missing.
