2018 doesn't have Adaptive Cruise Control?
I was pretty disappointed to read that the new 2018 F-Type had all the bells and whistles EXCEPT Adaptive Cruise Control.
Does anyone know why it doesn't have it and when it will have it?
My only theory on why it doesn't have it yet is that the F-Type has optional ceramic brakes which would affect the Adaptive Cruise Control.

I was also disappointed to learn that it also was not available as an option in any of the prior F-Types either. I suspect it is due to being a "performance" car rather than a cruiser.
Parallel park assist
Vertical park assist
Front and back parking sensors
Blind spot monitoring
Reverse Traffic Detection
Traffic sign recognition
High beam assist
Lane departure warning
Lane keep assist
Autonomous emergency braking for vehicles and pedestrians
Driver condition monitoring
It really does have all the bells and whistles except Adaptive cruise control.
I'm curious about the Driver Condition Monitoring - does it have different levels of tolerance ? </s>

I think the Driver Condition Monitor just went off.

This feature actually REPLACES adaptive cruise control. You (the driver) set the adaptive cruise control to BLAST past anyone doing less speed than you, rather than slow down to match their speed. There's also an option to engage the active exhaust valves during this overtaking maneuver to let them know they have just been passed by a JaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaG...

Surely, the Driver Monitoring function is linked to the Air Quality monitor so that the system can predict when the driver might be deprived of oxygen?
This would be irony, for the hard of thinking.

I had ACC in my XFR and honestly never used it so I don't miss it on the F. I don't think I'm an ideal candidate for Autopilot and the whole handing things over to software thing...I work with developers and already have fun supporting their handiwork.

My Yukon has ACC and it's easily my favorite feature on it. Fill gas tank, get on highway, set cruise, just steer for 5-6 hours, then get gas a repeat...
I haven't taken the Jaguar on any kind of road trips where I'd miss ACC. For people with long commutes with tons of traffic, I can see it being very helpful!

So I had to look up Driver Condition Monitor - here it is. It flashes a coffee cup in the dash if it thinks you need one...

If you were to get in a wreck the ODB port would probably narc that you were 'wavering' and/or driving poorly.
Adaptive cruise is for an SUV or luxury boat going down the highway, not a sports car.

I'd say adaptive cruise control is pretty essential in long car rides.
I occasionally drive a Mercedes C63S from Northern California to Southern California, the the adaptive cruise control + steering assist has made the 9 hour trip much more pleasant.
It helps a ton when you can't actually drive the car, like when you're stuck in traffic. Instead of getting frustrated, you can flip a switch and let the car handle it, so you can spend more time enjoying when you can really drive the car.

I had adaptive cruise on my X100 XKR. It did try to kill me a couple of times when it hit the brakes for no reason. On the whole though it was very useful in a line of traffic restricted to a set speed..road works, average speed cameras and so on.
I wish the F-Type had it.
