45000 miles in 3 years OK for the V8?
Hi, thinking of trading the Mustang for a F Pace SVR. Having had to drive the Mustang every day for about 3 weeks while an issue with the f type was resolved got very very tired.
There is a nice looking F Pace SVR at a reasonable price, but it has 70,000km on it (about 45000 miles). It's probably $20K Australian less than what it would be if it had half the km.
I tend to think a lot of miles over a shortish period isnt a bad thing as it indicates distance driving which is better for the car. I had an XKR which had 25000 miles on it in the first 2 years, and aside from a bit of road rash it was perfect and very reliable. Once I have it, it wouldnt do more than about 3000 miles a year as it will share love with my F type and there is only so much of me to go around. So I'm thinking it should be OK, but interested in thoughts. Money isnt the be all and end all, but getting one at a good price would be very tempting and I might jump earlier rather than later.

V8 pretty much runs at idle in 8th gear at 80-100km/hr. im sure it lots of highway mileage.
i wouldnt worry.
IMHO, the V8 accumulates miles very well. It spends so much time between 1-2k rpm, you get proporationally less wear on the drivetrain. I love that the V8 purrs around town at 1200 rpm. Fantastic car. I wouldn't hesitate to pickup a 50-70k mile R/SVR. Ours has 55k miles now, and no issues.
Yeah I'm leaning that way myself and I suppose the $20K discount will buy a few repairs. The driver's seat doesnt look saggy although there is scuffing on the bolster from the owner getting in and out. I think I upset the salesman as it is in a MB dealership and when he said it had been traded when the owner upgraded into a new Benz, I commented "some of us would consider that a downgrade" which essentially went down like a lead balloon.
I would not be concerned over the mileage. It's not like the V8 has to work hard in daily driving. I'm also thinking that at that mileage it was mostly easy highway miles.

The house Jaggys make an appearance at the end of that clip lol, perhaps there will be another one joining them
Ended up going for a 22 model with 30000 miles, should get it in a week or two. Keeping the F Type of course but it will be handy to have some carrying capacity in the driveway.
If anyone is interested, I have the F Pace SVR now which I hadnt driven before delivery. To me (I havent had a chance to really push it) it feels almost the same to drive as the XJR which I thought was similar to drive to the XKR. Very light steering though the tyres are brand new and that might settle, "feels" small, a bit of body roll. It is much more subtle than I was expecting, and a lot quieter than I was expecting having watched umpteen reviews where they were frothing about the noise, although both my F Type and Mustang have modded exhausts.
On '22's it is still a very comfortable ride, even in dynamic, the seats are probably the best I have sat in by far, it is hard to describe how well they fit but it is like a pod supporting you. Interior is fantastic quality but a bit monotone. Infotainment is awesome. They can keep the digital dash, I think they are just **** value.
It is a luxury car, not a sports car. In terms of sportiness I would put it on a par with my missus' 2020 XE p300 R whatever but a lot faster. A few years back I had considered trading the f type for one and I am glad I didnt because I would have been very disappointed as it feels a bit more grown up than I am mentally, to me it is the XJR on stilts. It makes me think what a fantastic car the 2020 XE would have been with a little v8 in it (yes I know about the Project 8 but the interior in those was pre facelift).

I'll be checking that out, there isnt much difference between the volume in normal and dynamic. But I suppose remember in the f type we are sitting 4 feet away from the exhaust, whereas in the f pace it is probably closer to 10.
