Default After Market Back up camera again

Ok...stupidly i leased the base model V6 without a backup camera. I thought, such a small car...i'll be fine. But the truth is this car is difficult to maneuver in garages..the mirrors are all magnified...and the rear view window's visibility not great. Has anyone played with a very simple license plate camera... and is there anyway of plugging this into the Meridian screen? I think there are jacks, but without a module i don't think it would work. I don't really want to add a screen into the cockpit...that probably would look terrible.

You could always look for a replacement mirror with the backup display...

Nav-Tv just developed a Plug and Play interface for the F-Type, it just started shipping, it allows both a back up camera as well as front facing camera (so you don't hit curbs).

Hmm interesting, wish I had known about this before buying the Premium+vision pack. How much does this cost to install and any idea why its not listed on their website yet?

It was released either today or, yesterday. They're "replacing" their website, here's a link to the new one: Back-up Camera Interface - Jaguar F-TYPE CAM

Question. I went on their website and they offer it for around $500. However it doesn't show the kit coming with a ccamera. Is that a separate option do you know?

Any idea if doing this voids the warranty?

Thanks for the link. I have the factory backup camera, but putting in a front cam To augment it would be helpful. I had to move a wall to create enough space in the garage for this car, and frankly it barely fits.

Since it's completely plug and play, it would be against Federal law for it to void any warranties (via the Magnuson/Moss act Magnuson?Moss Warranty Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

The price you saw wouldn't include cameras...

The system can hook up two cameras, however if you already have an OEM rear camera as part of the system, this $550 NAV-TV Cam system can be connected via the instructions into the existing OEM system and use the Jag- navigation system to control both the existing rear camera as well as a new front camera ($200) that connects into the OEM system. you can then switch back and forth using the navigation screen.
I emailed the dealer and asked what they would charge to install the NAV-TV Cam and will report back when I get a response.

Two solutions: Hang a string with a weight from the ceiling and adjust it for the correct parking spot or buy a laser parking device that does the same thing.
There is also a radio with a retractable screen that sets up for a rear camera

Any idea how much the kit costs with a back up camera included? And where would the camera be located?

Yep. I used a tennis ball on a string, hung so that it touches the windshield at driver's eye level at the correct position.

I used a nut instead of a ball; but he complains!

Radio : single din and video
Amazon.com: BOSS Audio BV9986BI In Dash, Single Din, DVD/CD/USB/SD/MP4/MP3 Compatible AM/FM Receiver, 7 inch Motorized / Flip Out Touchscreen Panel, Detachable Faceplate, Bluetooth Audio Streaming, Bluetooth Hands free Calling and Remote Control: Automotive Amazon.com: BOSS Audio BV9986BI In Dash, Single Din, DVD/CD/USB/SD/MP4/MP3 Compatible AM/FM Receiver, 7 inch Motorized / Flip Out Touchscreen Panel, Detachable Faceplate, Bluetooth Audio Streaming, Bluetooth Hands free Calling and Remote Control: Automotive

There are other similar radios just google for them

Also their are adapters for the jaguar radio plug to the new radio. If not totally for your car and radio, close and saves rewiring the automobile plug

It won't solve your forward visibility everywhere, but for home:

Camco 44442 AccuPark $11.89

You can mount a license plate camera on front and rear or both. If there is only one jack point, a double pole double through switch solves that problem

that switch won't help you get the screen to change and would only work while the car was in reverse.

The rear view camera can be enabled while driving. There is a camera enable button in the extra features part. So if you wanted to add a front camera to a car already equipped with the backup cam, then a switch can work. That is something I want to do but haven't gotten around to it. I don't really trust the front parking sensors of the vision pack.
