Question Aftermarket paddles and wheel trim?

Hey all!

One of the F-TYPEs I'm looking at buying has a red finished ring on the steering wheel and large red paddles (I believe they are red anodized aluminum) that appear to extend the factory paddles. I looked over the detailed order form for these and didn't see any options for either of these. Do any of you know makes these two items?

Thanks!
Moose

Paddles look like the ones you can get from amazon, multiple manufactures make them.

Most definitely after-market items of questionable taste.

I actually like the red ring on the steering wheel. The paddle shifter additions are kindof in the middle for me. I to think the factory ones are a bit small, but these are VERY big - maybe a bit too much. Never would have thought that's something you'd find on Amazon. Any ideas on the ring? I'm wondering if it was removed and painted or if its a replacement part all together.

The ring is also an after-market eBay piece. They are available in several colours….but they seem to be more bulky than the OEM piece, a definite add-on.

You can even see the original ignis coloured paddles there so they are just the cheap stick on ones(plus or minus 2 fixing screws) and easily removed . The ring also will be 3m adhesive tape stuck on.

As a newbie to Jags I didn't realize the ring itself was aftermarket until I started looking at other R's. I believe the SVRs came with a red ring from factory? That might just be marketing I've seen on some of these rings.

Yea, I saw upon closer inspection during the test drive how they attached to the factory paddles. I was confident the paddles were some sort of aftermarket, but wasn't as sure about the ring. The F-TYPE I'm most interested in doesn't have either of these on it, so I'll have to see what I think when I sit in a fully original example!

It is possible to do it right and get a very nicely done aftermarket steering wheel for the Ftype that you can customize how you want.

I will warn you it is not cheap.

that is not inexpensive, lol. I’ll have to see how things shake out once I have the car.

my understanding is that the airbag cover swings out, so the ring wouldn’t project into your face. The factory wheel has a ring as well, it’s just black.

No red rings on SVR's. They are the same as all the other F-Types with piano black plastic rings. I covered mine with a carbon fibre ring that compliments the other Carbon Fiber bits on the steering wheel that I added.
