Not what I would call comprehensive or all that enlightening in my opinion but still interesting. I'd much rather read The Lance Review.

That'll be an upcoming edition.

Default V6S Twins...

Mine seems to be right there with yours. Exciting times indeed!

Wow, real footage of the manual in action on a vehicle that does not look like a prototype. Can't wait to take mine out for a run!

Jesus Christ, can we get a consensus on the manual shift experience? So far it's long, it's short, it's rubbery and it's precise.

You noticed that too? I continue to assume I am not going to get a decent read on that manual gearbox until people on this board start taking delivery of their orders and try them out.

lhoboy, do you have a VIN yet?

I have a call into the GM to see if it has shown up on the system. Do you? I'll PM you to see if we're on the assembly line together.

I think Orkney and I are the first on the forum to be getting the 6 speed and I'm certain we'll both be happy to share our opinion. It is quite possible, however, that there will be more opinions than reviewers even among us. What feels precise to some, will feel notchy to others. What feels smooth to some, will feel rubbery to others. There's no explaining preference.

Will someone PLEASE do some back to back reviews of the RWD and the AWD on a track with lap times?

Of course. But I think in the non-professional media we can get like a scale, something to compare it to. Is it NA Miata short? Does it click like an FR-S? Stuff like that.

So when "Nessie" shows up, I intend to shoot a lot of video during the first few hours. So hopefully folks can get a feel for the 6 Speed in a variety of settings. I am sure the pro / magazine reviews will have better production values, but I will do what I can.

The concept is to let people considering the 6 speed know what to expect.

That helmet seems to sit a little high on his head.

I do believe that I've seen specific review references to executions: Not Miata short, not positive and clicky like FRS, exactly like the 135,235 & 335i's (same exact transmission).

Yes. Way too small, or he doesn't know that it needs to be pulled down firmly. Obviously, not a regular track driver.

+1.

Added to that is that first impressions are often very misleading with a MT, and they are all a bit different. It takes awhile to settle in with a new MT vehicle before it becomes 2nd-nature, and then it usually feels great. I'm certain the same will be true with this car.

Alright, so one problem is the shift rod, from my research. The 'fix' is a dog bone style vs. stock junk:
n54Tuning.com - Billet Shift Rod for Manual E90/E92 335i Your #1 Source for Performance Parts for the N54/N55

Probably need some re-engineering, though for the F car.

I have also been looking at short shift kits that are available for that tranny.
