Another SVR?
Did anyone else see this article about the 2021 F-Type on AutoBlog?
https://www.autoblog.com/2020/08/12/2021-jaguar-f-type-first-drive/
Here is a quote from the article:
"We still haven’t had the chance to try out the less powerful versions of the updated F-Type, and there will likely be a new SVR boasting something even more powerful than the V8 pilfered by the 2021 F-Type R."
Where are they getting this info? I thought the SVR was done.

I reckon they are just guessing/hoping about a new SVR.
This line caught my attention though: "We wish the carbon ceramic upgrade available in Europe were available here."
Eh?
No CCM brakes in North America?
Doesn't sound right to me.

My opinion is it's a combination of speculation and poor journalism.
Not aware of a case were a variant of an existing model line is discontinued and then reintroduced in the following two years, so highly unlikely I would think.

Agreed. Having both the R and SVR in the lineup was a mistake from the start. Jaguar’s elimination of one of the two was belated recognition of this fact.

Having both R and SVR that were essentially the same car was a mistake. Had they put a bigger blower on SVR and increased power that way, it would have been meaningful upgrade.
Bring back something like the project 7 as an SVR...RWD, heck maybe even a stick as an option...
I know it’s a potential heresy to say it but if they were to bring back the SVR badge they may end up making it a electric hybrid with a new engine pairing and KERS. But like the lousy reporting that is just outright speculation!
