Yes, the guy from JLR left me a message to "helpfully" confirm that the car doesn't have a lock on the filler cap...

I've left a message for him to call me back so we can discuss, and will post any updates...

 

I don't want to beat a dead horse too much... but I have to ask what you guys expect the resolution to be?

 

I don't think they will recall every type out there to put a lock on it, but maybe they can just add it to the future cars.

 

I think your right but I don’t even think that is going to happen. They have had ZERO issues with problems in the US. The most they had is where states (such as NJ) don’t allow owners to gas up their own cars. The attendant scratches the lid trying to get it open with a lock(forgotten to unlatch by the driver).
