Default Any brilliant ideas to repair these front license plate holes?

Looks like the previous owner got a little carried away when mounting the front license plate...

I don't need a front plate in my state so wondering what the lowest effort fix for this will be, it doesn't need to be perfect, just not as bad as it is right now.

See if you can procure a crossbar cover from someone who recently did the crossbar removal project.

Thanks for the tip! It looks like new ones are available on eBay for around $170. How involved is removing and replacing this piece?

Thanks again!

There's that, or you could use BumperPlugs. For the front bumper bar, you could upgrade to P7 grille, or remove the bumper to replace the crossbar only.

I did my front end for the SVR for $700 paint, blend, full re-clear.

Don´t be angry at the previous owner, this is OEM way how the holder is attached from the factory. You can buy new part or switch to Project 7 replica, but with that goes a bit of work. To remove the bar you need to disassemble the bumper, which needs to disassemble the whole front underbody with about two thousand bolts.

You actually do need a front license plate in California. That being said I don't have a front plate on my Jag and I haven't had a front plate on my 2007 Infiniti since the day after I brought it home from the dealer. Most cops could care less although they can use it as an excuse to pull you over or load you up with infractions if they don't like your attitude. I do have the Jag plate in the trunk on a Sto n Show device just in case of pull over. "Gee officer, I took it off when I was washing the car - I'll put it on right now"

You could fill it, sand it down and then either use some sort of wrap over it, or depending on the width, some of the tapes available in a variety of finishes... semi-gloss black or carbon fiber??

@FTypeInTheSun I just took my 2016 in for a front nose repaint and then a p7 replica replacement on the front grill. My current bumper cover is in near perfect condition. I'm located up in Seattle and can ship you my OEM bumper cover if you're interested all you need to do is pay for the shipping. Just DM me if you have further interest. Bob

Easiest would be to get a novelty plate of your choice to cover them up!

How about a Union Jack sticker?

Or an F-Type sticker.

Yes, required in California but usually overlooked. I think that jurisdictions that use red light cameras might be more diligent about that, since the front is what gets photographed.

When I had this situation on my Bentley, I just used plugs. I color matched them to the bumper color. This is the quickest easiest way to dress up the ulginess. It is far easier than wraps, paints or repaints. It appears you are on chrome? If so, you could experiment with black plugs or some shade of silver.

Believe it or not but I got a ticket in Texas for no front license plate! What's worse is I bought the car used and it was sold new in Texas without the front plate holder. They must have way too many cops in Texas if they have time for this kind of nonsense. I told the dealer that they had sold the car illegally since a front plate is the law in Texas. No matter I still had to buy the front plate holder from Jaguar! They did install it for free.

Had to send a picture of the front plate installed to the court so they would drop the charges.
