Good Morning,

Overview

10/30/2017 I gave my dealer a deposit for a 2018 F-Type coupe.

11/30/2017 I had emailed a question to him. He replied that Jaguar was no long making 2018's and were, instead, making 2019's. But he was not able to access the Jaguar ordering system to change my order to a 2019.

03/02/2018 my dealer FINALLY was able to submit an order for a 2019 F-Type coupe.
Last Amendment 3/29/2019
Build Date: 4/13/2018
Delivery Date (4/27/2018).

03/29/2018 from my dealer
Your F-Type is in production now. Looks like status report shows it’s onto the trim

Patiently waiting for our car,
Bill

2019MY F-Types do not have all required approvals and will not be released until June (expected). Only sold orders will be released.

HI Mike, required approvals are referring to DOT or can you be more specific, I have no idea what you are referring to, my delivery date is 7/11 so I guess I'm outside this window and am still looking good, but would be interested more in what you mean by not all required approvals.

Thanks again for all the fantastic info also!

Hi KarimEls,

MarineJagMike may be able to provide more information.

A week ago I received the following from my dealer who apparently had a conversation with her Jaguar rep. I think the following is from that Jaguar Rep:
As per conversation I followed up with HQ. We cannot release these vehicles to you until we receive full sign off on the 19MY product. Full sign off includes:Government compliance , regulatory, legal, and multiple other departments within JLR. Unfortunately we can't speed up the governmental and regulatory aspects of the approval process. They expect the release to be sometime in June / July with standard programs.

Please let your customers know that there are regulatory certifications that need to be satisfied before the vehicle is deemed saleable. This is a normal process that occurs at the changeover for every model year so the customer has no reason to worry that the vehicle is being held arbitrarily, or because of an issue/defect. I will be more than happy to reach out to them and am sensitive to their situation.
For related info look at:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...-entry-200919/

I am patiently waiting,
Bill

I received the following from my dealer yesterday:

The status has changed on your F-Type. The port hold has been removed. They will begin releasing vehicles next week to be shipped to the dealership. Possibility it will arrive end of this month. I'll keep you up to date

Common Type of Sale Private Individual
Common Status Point Into Port of Entry or Receiving Compound
Detailed Status Point In Port - Hold Removed
Financial Status NSC Invoice
The dealership is supposedly expecting three F-Types: mine, a friend's and one for their lot.

Default Our F-Type Is In Our Garage

Good Morning,

I picked up our 2019 British Racing Green F-Type 2.0 Liter Coupe yesterday. It sat in the driveway to surprise my wife when she came home from work.

This is a brief timeline for this adventure ... nothing for Jaguar Land Rover to brag about:

10/30/2017 I gave my dealer a deposit for a 2018 F-Type coupe.

11/30/2017 I had emailed a question to him. He replied that Jaguar was no long making 2018's and were, instead, making 2019's. But he was not able to access the Jaguar ordering system to change my order to a 2019.

03/02/2018 my dealer FINALLY was able to submit an order for a 2019 F-Type coupe.
Last Amendment 3/29/2019
Build Date: 4/13/2018
Delivery Date (4/27/2018). ! this was 2 months off from the actual date !

03/29/2018 car is in production
.
04/11/2018 F-Type is built and due to arrive at the dealer on 5/18/2018. ! this is a month off from the actual date !

05/2/2018 car is in the port of Baltimore, USA

06/13/2018 no longer being held at the Baltimore port, meaning it is allowed to be loaded onto a truck, estimated arrival at dealer on 6/23/2018

What is interesting is my dealer had 3 cars coming, mine, one for a friend and one for their stock. My friends car arrived on 6/21, mine on 6/22 and the one for stock has not arrived yet.

I got the impression from a brief chat with the sales manager that Jaguar has sent cars to the USA where they wait in the port for Jaguar Dealers to want them. The picture I see is you can walk into a dealer and see what is available at the dealer, maybe that dealer will tell you what is at other dealers and maybe also tell you what is sitting at the port. I don't know how many are F-Types and whether they are 2018's or 2019's.

Thanks for listening and for your comments.

Time to immerse myself in the owner's manual

Bill

It is very nice looking. Your eight month saga has been quite informative. I’ve learned that at least with a CPO you actually get delivery then and there. JLR must up its game. I would never be able to wait 8 months for a car. Life is too short. My Benz was 8 weeks from order to delivery.

When I purchased my 2015 Ghibli I asked about ordering one to my exact specs and the dealer personnel laughed at me. According to them there would be no telling when the vehicle would arrive or with what options. Maybe they were trying to scare me into buying one from their inventory. It worked.

Looks wonderful! Is that an aluminum steering wheel fascia or is it just the light? Those seats are A+

Mike, you are 100% on Point, My car was built in June, and am now being told Sept. Delivery (In August if I get lucky) due to all the issues discussed in the other thread about holding cars at Port of Entry.

Just wanted to say thank you for all the great info, all the time!

@ Uncle Fishbits.
Some of the features I already had before the updates, like the ETA updates linked to the satnav. What I don't get is - I now have the WiFi hotspot also - ,
or if the OTA only works for updates on the infotainment, or does it also doe the map updates ? My car still tells me to go and get a USB stick..
