Default Any way to make the S sound close to an R?

I am planning on getting an f-type S in the future. All models sound aggressive, and pop, no doubt about it. Obviously the R just has a little more of that roar and pop, and that's what im looking for.

Would doing a reso or muffler delete do the job? Has anyone done this to their car, and if so, is the drone bad?

Thanks!

I assume you're talking about the V6S vs. the V8R. If so, there's absolutely nothing you can do to make a V6 sound like a V8, no matter what engine manufacturer. Whether it's an I4, I6, V6, V8, V10, or V12, they all have a distinctively different sound associated with the number of cylinders and layout. Changes to the exhaust system are only going to amplify or muffle the natural sound of a particular engine design.

I agree a V12 ferrari or Lambo can't be duplicated!

Lol I should rephrase my question. I know theres no way to make it sound EXACTLY like the V8. What I was hoping was just to achieve more growl out of the exhaust.

There is a way to make it sound exactly the same - trade it in

An option would be to remove the resonator mid pipe, do a straight tube setup with a 1/4 Wave Resonator off to the side to eliminate the drone if you notice any. Tune the 1/4 Wave to the area where you hear the drone "If witnessed".

Drive in S Dynamic mode. Car will growl 90% of the time.

If you want the r sound theres a 20k upgrade it involves removing the engine and replacing with a v8. Cheaper may be debadging an r and putting on s stickers. Having lived a bit with both it a serious difference

if you just want the crackle and pops on the V6, you can get some of that at high revs on lower gears in Dynamic mode. So for example at 4000rpm changing from 2nd to 3rd will generate some of those pops. Doesn't seem to happen on higher gears though.

Well, as usual no one on this forum really answers questions with a solution: so annoying. I would speak with Chris at a place called Mina Gallery in Reseda California. He built an exhaust for my xkR that was simply amazing. I have already spoken to him about substantially changing the sound of a base V6, and he feels confident that he can completely revamp the exhaust note of the car. I would trust him..he is very knowledgeable. You probably won't get exactly the same sound out of the car as the R, but I bet you will get something awesome. My XKR sounded so much better then the stock car...it just growled and purred...in fact i miss it compared to the winey ftype. The ftype reminds me more of an Italian sports car, then a Jaguar.

Look at:

Hmm.. It does sound louder, but does it sound like it removed those beautiful pops & crackles?
