Default My car is back after nearly a seven week absence

Yes, nearly seven weeks driving a loaner as the dealership was dealing with JLR on a window trim issue (yes, one piece of window trim) that was there day one. After exhausting the entire US supply of passenger side window trim, took two pieces of trim being shipped from the UK (pulled off the production line) to FINALLY get one to the bodyshop undamaged. The dealership went out of their way to do everything they could to make it less painful for me as I waited and waited and waited...

But that's not really the purpose of this post. What is the purpose is that after being in various loaners all of this time, in spite of the complaints I have about the F-Type (what were JLR and Meridian thinking, the rattles, the infotainment system from the 80s), I LOVE THIS CAR and I fear for anyone that tries to take it from me.

Now I'm worried about dropping my car off to get the noisy exhaust valve fixed tomorrow.

Glad to hear you finally got yours back, that must have been torture.

Mine has been gone for 4 weeks, 2 of them waiting for parts from the UK. I am desperate to have it back. I still love my Land Rover but it's not the same.

For anything that doesn't prevent you from driving or is cosmetic, couldn't you just pick up your car and take it back once the part arrives?

The part had been pulled, replaced, they thought it was good and therefore they trashed the part they had removed. After the car came back to the dealership, it started to warp and needed to go back. Unfortunately, nothing to put back on.

For mine, it was drivable, but they had to take it apart to see the damage before they could order the parts. It would have been possible to put it back together and drive it until the parts came in, but that is all labour charge which the insurer wasn't going to pay for and since I had another car I wasn't inclined to pay either.
