Default Anyone have issues filling up with gas?

I don't have a lot of data points here since I've only had the car 8 days... but of the three times I've filled it with gas, I've had issues with the auto shut off on the pump the last two times. It will shut off (as if full) repeatedly, way before the tank is full. Both times was at a CostCo pump, so I don't know if it's the car, or CostCo's pumps or coincidence or what...

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this.

Yes, practically every time. Same with several of my other cars, regardless of which gas station.

I've just learned to deal with it.

Short fill pipe. Don't put it all the way in so it can vent. Also try the second or slowest setting on the nozzle. Been discussed on the X150 forum. I followed the advice and have no issues now.

I see you have a 2016. There was a service bulletin on that. I had the updated parts installed years ago and the problem went away.

This is a known problem and JLR has a warranty fix for it. I'm not as adept as our fellow forum members at attaching the thread that discusses this but I'm sure someone will. If you do a search for "FTYPE fuel fill" the two threads come up with the warranty TSB fix info.

Yes, 2016 V6 Coupe Base. Have to pull up on the nozzle to get gas in without it cutting off. Time to check with dealer about the service bulletin.

Ya I experienced this on the way home with 16 S, there was a TSB or something on it, took it to the dealer and it was fixed.

I had the same issue on my '15 340hp 'vert. with the same result: took it to the dealer, new fill tube installed and the problem went away.

I've had a big problem re-fuelling...paying 1.69$ per litre in Quebec.
Equivalent of 6.39$ per gallon.
Apart from that, no problem with fuelling. Great tank and size, bigger than my Nissan Rogue SUV and does better gas mileage on the highway.

Just had the TSB applied a few weeks ago when I took my 2016 S in for service and it seems to have fixed the issue (at least, based on the one fill-up I've completed since then...)

Also had the problem, was very frustrating at times as some pumps were more sensitive than others. Got the fix last year, and problem solved. Just had them do while in for schedule maintenance.

Good to know about the service bulletin. I've just been putting the filler in upside down to get around the issue.

Being from the motorcycle world, I'm used to problems with the CA filler.

I had this issue back with my 2016 V6S AWD and dealer could not fix it to the point where I no longer have the car amongst other issues with it....

It's quite embarrassing at the gas station trying to put gas in this nice sports car and it stops every couple of seconds.

It was a hard decision to let the car go but now i'm looking at 2019 R ;]

I hear you brother
Now let's talk about the potholes. Some are deeper than the car's clearance

Dealt with it for months - constantly having to twist and try different angles. I had the most success turning the nozzle 180 degrees (pretty much upside down). Got it serviced and "fixed" but still run into the issue at some pumps.

I’m pleased to report that my issue was fixed under warranty (I assume... I’ve only have had one fill up so far but it was without problem).

i also had some rattling/squeaking from the trunk addressed successfully. Unfortunately quieting it has made it possible to hear relatively quieter squeaking from another source, which the dealership has decided is “normal”.

I, too, have this issue with my 2016. I downloaded the TSB & was going to have the dealer perform the fix, but I got used to pumping the gas with the nozzle upside-down... I don't want the dealer working on my car anymore than they HAVE to.
To those who have had the TBS performed: how long did it take them to do the work?

Thanks

My appointment was a Tuesday morning, they didn’t start actual work on the car until that Friday, and I got it back at the end of Friday.

This was for both the fuel fill issue and to track down the rattle/squeaking.
