Anyone who is even slightly familiar with the F-type can tell a 6-cyl from an 8-cyl model from the exhaust; tacky badges not required. For the non-car types they will see a 'James Bond' car/Aston so be it.

Leaper has to stay, but see ya tacky letters, etc.

JLR's Marketing Department would be appalled if they read this thread.

They put a lot of time and effort into helping Autistic bystanders differentiate between individual models, and the precise specification of a particular car.

The new front bumpers are a case in point...

I'm an XF R-Sport guy posting here on the F-Type thread, so be gentle, but I would never debadge my car. I do, however hate dealer badges, luckily my dealer just uses a plate frame, which I'm fine with. The Jag dealer plate frame lets people know/believe that you bought it new and not at some CarStore type place, or at least a same make/dealer trade in. As much as I paid for it, I don't want people thinking that I bought it off Craigslist, lol.

I'm actually in the minority in that I have the 2016 R-Sport, and I almost wish it had a little something on the grill like S has. Although they don't currently make and XFR yet. so that will probably get the R grille badge. I do have R-Sport inserts in my side vents though, but they are tiny. And thankfully no 35-t on the back end, just XF.

I don't get the whole de-badging thing but I'm 51. I still kind of dig ostentatious, show-offy consumption.

Removing dealer badges in my mind isn't debadging, that's just doing things right. There's only one thing that annoys me more than seeing a dealer badge and that's the Friday afternoon dealer badge on a jaunty angle inversely proportional to the number of sh*ts given by the guy tasked with doing it...no license plate stuff either dude, I got forced into paying $138 for the Jaguar frame that came with the Vision Package ;-)

I'm not a fan of the "S" badge.

Pulled off the Jaguar and added the LR emblem to keep it in the family.

Funny that EOM license plate frame is $22 shipped on Ebay. Comes with the OEM packaging and all.

I'd like to replace the S badge with a U badge.

I removed everything except the leaper and the S. To me, the tail looks a bit naked without some small bit of ornamentation.

You should have kept the left badging and just replaced the F with a U.

I.e. U-Type

There for a moment I thought you were suggesting that I have both (FU-Type)

what's the s badge color history. it *must* mean something.

not that I needed the help noticing it, but that badge is a reason I kept really identifying and seeing the F-type around. It really makes it more noticeable. Originally I wanted one because I felt I was left out of the club, LOL but just got a base manual, which is more than enough to me.

The poor adhesion of the JAGUAR spoiler letters makes those a must-remove item whether someone is into debadging or not - the leaper alone is busy enough on there.

Ya, I get that for sure. I think it's the circle that bugs me.. I like the XF version. Mm... now you have me thinking.

Here's the emblem story:

I think everyone who's removed their S emblem should send it to Uncle Fishbits, so he can attach ALL of them to his car.

Something I haven't thought of in decades, but I *was* voted most unusual in both junior high and high school. So this idea truly fits my own, idiom, sir. <---- joke: https://youtu.be/-jO1EOhGkY0

But this idea is hilarious. I'll form my own damn club. But then I would have to quit it because any club that would have me as a member, is not a club I would want to be a member of. (Groucho Marx)😅😉😄

Could you imagine? Lol even a photo shop of it would be funny

I remember telling the dealer I wanted a button, and they said they could throw one in. I declined, as I imagine that would be relatively inappropriate.

That reminds me that when my car was delivered it was an F-Type V6S 6MT R AWD. Since I couldn't figure out what that meant I asked for the proper "S" badge. Since then, I've reduced the back to leaper and S only, but I can go back to R AWD at any time.
