Default Auto High-beam headlights.

Do you use it? I worry that it won't turn off at the right time, or stay on when I'm behind someone.

I use it on roads without a central resveration, but turn it off on those that have one as it can fail to detect oncoming lorries/trucks/busses. It works ok the rest of the time. On the odd occasion it dwells for longer than I'd like it is easy to override (flash for temporary override, or turn off altogether with the stalk).

You will need to enable the "auto high beam" feature through the menu button on the steering wheel and the display between the tach/speedometer.

This feature works perfectly for me in any situation just like the "auto-lights on" and "auto wipers on" features

Mine works really well. Much better than my wife's C63.

Initially mine was unreliable. Then I discovered in the settings menu that it was set for right-hand drive! So, you should definitely check that.

Now it works fine, though still lags a little compared to hand control.

i always leave headlights in auto

the steering angle movement and auto high beam work really well imo, never had an issue with them not dipping yet

of all the cars i have with this option, it seems to turn the high beam back on really quickly, even while cornering

BTW - In the same menu structure under Vehicle Info there is also an AHB sensitivity setting, which can be set to Normal or Test Mode. I honestly do not know what Test Mode does... Unhingd will tell us...

I could make up a story if you'd like.

I tried AHB for a while, but it always seemed to dip the lights more slowly than I would have preferred. Note that my use is on very twisty roads. I rarely have opportunity to need high beams on straight roads, due to the nature of my generally traveled routes.

I use it. I drive a bunch of REALLY curvy roads, and I always have a 1/4 second shock when the high beam is on, oncoming traffic inbound, and "oh damn the high beam is going to...." and then it switches. In all realistic expectations, it's switching more consistently and efficiently than I might do it. It definitely is on for a split second, longer than I might like.... but I have zero problems with it, and doubt other drivers are ever annoyed.

On straight roads, it works flawlessly, and even switches back and forth as you creep ahead of a car next to you, on a two lane road in the night.

I wouldn't hesitate to switch it on and try it out. I doubt you will switch it off.

Also, the AHB w/ cornering headlamps is easily one of the most glorious and amazing advancements I've seen in two decades (wind scarf not withstanding Lol)

I put in an enquiry with my dealer today. We should have an answer on Monday and i'll try it out to confirm. The owner's manual makes reference to the Test Mode, but does not explain its purpose.
