Battery Reset Question
To cure all that ails the F-Type electronically, I see that the usual first-step of troubleshooting is to reset the battery by disconnecting the ground for ~15 seconds. My question is, do you lose all the settings (radio, seat, nav, clock, options, etc) when you disconnect the battery or is there a capacitor somewhere that keeps the power alive temporarily?

And by the way, the need for periodic resets of these beautiful computers on wheels is not exclusive to Jaguars. It can and does happen in almost every other luxury make - and so do the mysterious battery drain episodes.

Some lose the clock time, some don't but if you lose it it is a doddle to reset.
The only things you lose for sure are the one-touch window up and down and the Trip A and Trip B details. Your Owner's Handbook shows how to reset the windows, although for some (including me) it only works while driving.

Thanks for the responses. So far I haven't had a need to do it but just wanted to know what I was in for if I did.

It is in your owner's manual - and that manual can be a "best friend". Resetting the windows is child's play. Put the window up, hold the switch. Put the window down, hold the switch. Done...but the exact procedure is in your manual.
Thanks I appreciate it. I looked last night before I posted and was unable to find it in the manual. I don't doubt that it's in there somewhere but I couldn't find it. Nonetheless, thanks for your help, it worked perfectly.
Sometimes you have to repeat that process a couple of times before it takes.
