I live in a neighborhood with lots of speed bumps and dips so I was wondering if anyone has INCREASED their ground clearance on a F Type R. I know I've seen many articles on lowering and I'm sure I'll get lots of comments about being crazy but I'm tired of creeping over these obstacles. I love the car and just hate the sound of bottoming out. Its a 2016 AWD R on 20in wheels with 255/35/20 front and 295/30/20 rear tires. Would increasing to 45 front and 40 rear rub? Any REAL suggestions, other than selling it?
Is it just the front chin guard scratching or something in the middle? That plastic chin guard (under the bumper) at the front is pretty low, you might be able to shave 10mm off that and achieve the same thing.

Also those chin guards are real cheap and easy to replace. Don’t worry about scraping them. Yes...increasing the tire profiles to 40 and 45 will raise the car by 1.25” without rubbing. Just don’t install spacers to increase the footprint.
Another option is to change to 265/35/20 and 305/30/30, the tire setup of the SVR. This will give 3,5 mm at the front and 3 mm at the back. Not much of a lift but it will offer better handling compared to moving to 45 and 40. I moved recently to this setup on MSPS4S and experienced both better grip and improved comfort (I slightly lowered tire pressure from 2,5 to 2,4 Bar to accommodate for the increased width and diameter (my V6S - especially with lightweight wheels and rotors and WO AWD weighs about 100kg less than the SVR which has 2,5 recommended) so that I get the ideal contact patch (checked a few times tire temp distribution over tire width with IR thermometer after drive - looked perfect with 2,4 cold tire pressure).
Several motor journalists commented on the SVR when they first tested it and indicated that they were surprised that the ride comfort was better than in the R (not what they had expected) - the explanation is tire size.
Back to the increased ground clearance: perhaps the 265/35/20 and 305/30/30 together with a 10mm shave of the chin guard will solve your speed bump issue WO compromising handling?
Won't it only increase the height by half that much?
The ride height increase is equal to sidewall increase: 10x0.35= 3.5 mm
I attach a picture with a comparison of the front tires (new diameter is 7mm larger than old, i.e. new radius is 3,5 mm larger than old. Radius increase equals ride height increase :-)
Has anyone out there tried to run 255/45/20 front and 295/40/20 rear on a F Type R AWD? Worried about rubbing on the front the most, don't think the rear is a problem.
I had my car back into the dealer for some rattle, and they give me a loaner e pace and to be honest it does look quite like an f type placed in a 4:3 screen
